The "Little Athens" project involves constructing a residential complex with 80 units of various sizes and typologies. The plot, O.T. A-P6.11, lies at the northwestern edge of the Metropolitan Pole of Elliniko - Agios Kosmas, adjacent to the Municipality of Alimos, and includes a section of the Trachones stream.
This project includes three independent five-story residential buildings. A common basement houses auxiliary functions and parking spaces. The buildings are strategically oriented to highlight views of the sea and the metropolitan park. Moreover, they are designed to avoid obstructing views from other buildings.
The design focuses on optimizing the sea view, orientation, and natural light and air for the residents. Consequently, the buildings function as cohesive units that shift and evolve. Balconies extend from the façades, creating a connection with the surrounding landscape. Furthermore, these elements integrate the buildings into their natural environment.
The design includes green roof systems on all buildings. Urban gardens or small green spaces are incorporated around each floor, extending living areas outdoors. This design integrates the buildings with their natural surroundings and reflects the site’s characteristics.
The apartments are designed to meet modern living standards with terraces or courtyards on each floor. Each floor features terraces or courtyards that provide outdoor spaces for relaxation. Additionally, electromechanical installations and louvered dividers create "courtyards" that separate the apartments. This design ensures that each apartment has effective layouts for both living spaces and bedrooms.
Each apartment in "Little Athens" offers two or more exposures, which enhances ventilation and provides expansive views. The design prioritizes privacy in bedrooms while maximizing views from main living areas. Overall, the design emphasizes comfort and a strong connection to the natural surroundings.
