Close Mixed Use Development in Ghana
The Angelina Amusement Development Park is a large mixed-use project situated in the greater Accra region, covering 1,400 acres on the outskirts of Aburi. This mixed-use development in Ghana integrates traditional Ghanaian architectural elements with advanced technological features. We based our design on traditional round-shaped units and organized them around an atrium with one entrance and one exit. We also included a fence around the building complex to reinforce this concept.
The development includes various attractions and facilities. At its center, we placed a circular building with a central void to symbolize the primal architectural cell. This core area serves as the hub for shopping malls, restaurants, bars, a business center, and basic amenities.
Additionally, we located the sports courts and athletic facilities close to the center of the development. This area features large arenas and expansive green spaces shaded by trees, which improve the site’s microclimate. Moreover, the golf course sits in the valley between two hills. The 18-hole course includes sand traps and water features, while the clubhouse and other facilities are at the foot of the hill.
Furthermore, the hotel complex acts as a landmark and visual icon for visitors. Standing 15 storeys high, it provides stunning views of the site and the surrounding area. This landmark design follows the spatial organization model of a central void, similar to the rest of the development. We have created two neighborhoods or clusters on the two hills that surround the central valley. On top of each hill, we have designed parks with communal uses including restaurants, kindergartens, schools, and meeting spaces for residents.
The project will unfold in four phases over seven years, and the estimated budget is approximately 350 million dollars. Overall, this mixed-use development in Ghana will create a vibrant community space that blends traditional and modern elements.
