Close Offices of Bayer Company
The relocation of Bayer Company offices to an existing office building in Marousi, with a surface area of 1,140 sq.m., aims to create a new, flexible, and interactive workplace. This new space is designed to become the center of the company community.
The primary design principle focuses on transforming the work environment, incorporating international trends for workplaces that bring employees closer together. The goal is to make cooperation more pleasant and creative. The architectural team and Bayer aim to accelerate the company's drive for flexibility, efficiency, and sustainability. They achieve this by introducing multiple ways of working and strengthening Bayer Hellas AG's position as an employer of choice, according to the Next Normal Office Concept (NNOC - BAYER).
The design promotes biophilia and the well-being of employees and visitors, including spaces with many alternative uses, enhanced colors, a variety of materials, and green zones. Circulation within the office space centers around meeting and focus rooms. Workstations are next to the building's facades to benefit from natural lighting. A metal structure connects the open plan on both sides of the meeting room core zone, creating multiple visual and functional units with suspended plants above the workstations. When vertical in the space, it integrates other functions like writing surfaces and office equipment.
Workstations alternate with open spaces for cooperation. Lounges, banquettes, high tables, and phone booths allow for a variety of working scenarios. The spacious lounge in the reception area can easily transform into the company's town hall for gatherings. The materials chosen promote sustainability, acoustical comfort, and visual connection between open and closed spaces, fostering a sense of belonging.
The new offices of Bayer Company explore how architectural design can boost cooperation practices. They rise to the challenge of a constantly transforming working environment.
