Piraeus Gate
Piraeus Gate masterplan is designed to integrate green spaces, temporary living arrangements, and adaptable corporate structures. We focus on transforming the urban landscape while enhancing the city’s infrastructure and transportation systems.
Situated at the entrance of Piraeus, this masterplan enriches the cityscape with a series of strategic intervention points. These points, including plots and existing building shells, create a compact urban structure that contributes to the city’s landscape.
Our proposal introduces new compositional elements to reshape the area for current needs. We create green spaces and public passages that improve the city’s entrance and establish a vibrant urban and business park. This new development aims to form a welcoming community space for both residents and visitors.
We envision a complex featuring diverse spaces, including green areas and multi-purpose buildings. This design addresses various needs such as residential living, corporate offices, and public spaces. In addition, we activate a currently inactive part of the city.
The facade design reflects the functions of the buildings through careful choices of proportions, densities, and materials. For instance, office facades have larger blinds with increased spacing to optimize natural light. Conversely, residential facades feature denser elements for privacy and comfort.
By designing this masterplan, we ensure continuity with the existing urban environment. Shops on the ground floors are housed in transparent volumes to engage street-level activity, while offices and residences occupy the upper floors. Moreover, below-ground spaces provide parking, and rooftop areas offer green spaces for relaxation.
Furthermore, the integration of mixed uses promotes urban vitality. By incorporating commercial and recreational facilities, we balance the current dominance of office spaces and enrich the area’s activity spectrum. The interconnections between different levels and visual links encourage social interaction and foster collaboration among resident companies.
Overall, the Piraeus Gate masterplan aims to create a dynamic and adaptable urban environment. Through green spaces, versatile building designs, and mixed-use functionalities, we seek to enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal and functionality for everyone who visits or lives here.
