Set on an East facing, coastal plot in Antiparos, the project envisions a multi – bedroom seaside villa with uninterrupted views towards Paros. The main design intention is to establish a balanced dialogue between traditional Cycladic architecture and contemporary design. Rather than forming a compact volume, the residence is composed as a constellation of distinct building units, distributed across the site and interwoven with courtyards and open spaces. This fragmented arrangement allows the architecture to unfold gradually, framing views and creating a sequence of spatial experiences aligned with the rhythms of island life.
The architectural language draws from the local precedents, maintaining the human scale in each volume. The interplay between built masses and voids generates a layered spatial composition, where movement through the site becomes a process of discovery, revealing outdoor rooms, shaded transitions, and framed vistas.
The outdoor environment plays a central role in the overall composition. A sequence of pergolas, semi – open spaces and terraces create a gradient of privacy and use. The swimming pool, along with the main outdoor lounge and dining areas, is placed in the center of the composition, forming the “social heart” of the residence.
The shared living functions are accommodated within the main building, extending seamlessly to outdoor terraces and pergolas. The sleeping areas are arranged in independent volumes on either side of the pool, offering from both privacy and visual continuity with the surrounding landscape.
Materiality plays a key role in anchoring the project to its context. The use of white – rendered surfaces alongside exposed stone masonry reflects the architectural identity of the Cyclades, reinforcing the integration of the residence within the landscape and local building traditions.
